Gold from the Linkedin gutter
LinkedIn is full of terrible content. Awful. With more and more written by AI.
And yet, there is some gold in that gutter! 💰
Today I’m trying something different: below are a four recent LinkedIn posts I found useful or funny with a bit of commentary from me.
This collection of Linkedin posts was pulled from hours of scrolling Linkedin, sifting for a fleks of gold amid the sludge of LinkedIn humblebrags, gratitudes, birth announcements framed as “a new product launch.” 🤢
I’ve read LinkedIn so you don’t have to. ⌛
If you find this useful or funny, please reply and let me know! And if there’s a LinkedIn post you want to recommend, send it my way.
Thanks,
Glen
An unusual and inspiring career pivot
I cannot stop thinking about this post.
I don’t know her but Kieran was a Managing Director at Google, likely making a seven-figure annual salary. She left to … start nursing school.
This posts forces you to ask yourself - what would I be doing if it weren’t about money?
Ingredients of a great seller
There is a lot of discussion in tech about 10x engineers but not enough about 10x sellers. Daniel argues here that being a good person and being a good seller are one in the same. He points out that being good with customers starts with being good to yourself. That is not a common view. But it holds true for many of the best sellers I know.
Walk in your customers shoes
I really like the line “The job of a company is simple: remove as much friction as possible from the buyer’s journey.” As a company grows, it is easy to lose site of this.
If you work in partnerships, are your partners removing friction from the buyer’s journey? How are you measuring this?
CEO satire 2026
She nailed it. Sloane got laid off from a new job at a tech company just one month after publicly launching a podcast about ageism in corporate America. Coincidence? 🤔 You can checkout her podcast here.
